A day filled with magnolias

Magnolias, known for their grace and timeless beauty, perfectly symbolized the couple’s love and commitment to each other. When I photographed Will and Brittany's proposal, Brittany already had an idea in mind for what she wanted! She was telling me all about a southern wedding filled with magnolias. That focal floral piece was definitely one of the most striking features of the wedding day. These elegant, fragrant flowers were thoughtfully incorporated into every detail, from the bridal bouquet to the centerpieces that adorned the reception tables.

The Bridesmaids' Perfect Touch

Brittany’s bridesmaids added a soft color to the day as they wore stunning yellow dresses that complemented the natural beauty of the flowers. Their bright, cheerful dresses added an extra layer of warmth to the celebration, perfectly setting the tone for the joyful atmosphere. But the touch of magic didn’t stop there. Alongside her bridesmaids, Brittany also had her “something blue girls,” a sweet group of friends who wore blue dresses to honor the beloved wedding tradition of "something blue". The combination of yellow and blue created a playful, yet elegant, color palette that was both timeless and modern.

A Surprise of Sunny Skies

As anyone who’s planned an outdoor wedding in The South knows, weather can make or break the day and you don't know which it will be until the moment you're walking down the aisle. Brittany and Will’s wedding day was no exception. The forecast showed heavy rain for the majority of the day Saturday. I was talking back and forth with her planner on a rain plan all week. While there were things lined up for this, everyone was still hopeful for sun. Despite the ominous predictions, the sun shone brightly the entire day. The sunny skies allowed the outdoor ceremony and reception to take place as planned and was more beautiful than any of us could have expected! There was an undeniable sense of joy and relief in the air, as everyone realized that not only were the couple’s dreams coming true, but the weather had also decided to cooperate in the most beautiful way possible.

Their Day to Remember

The entire day was a seamless blend of love, laughter, and stunning details. Brittany looked radiant in her dress, Will cleaned up quite nice in his suit, and the entire wedding party was picture-perfect. Their ceremony was heartfelt. Will looked at his bride in a way that every girl dreams about! They shared their last moments as fiancés surrounded by their parents being covered in prayer and their first moments as husband and wife partaking in communion together. Once the vows were recited and rings exchanged, the couple shared a joyful kiss and were greeted by their two precious dogs, Reign and Honey. You could see the excitement on both of their faces to see their two fur-babies.

From First Dance...

The reception was perfect from start to finish. Their first dance took place right after sunset and the rest of the night was filled with dancing, delicious food, and a good time for all guests from grandparents to toddlers. With two delicious cakes, moon pies, and personalized cookies, guests had their pick of a sweet treat that night. DJ Cole Maddox kept the energy high with popular songs across several genres.

...To Last Call

At the end of the night, as Brittany and Will were running through their tunnel of sparklers, the lightest little drizzle began to fall. It was a reminder that sometimes, when you least expect it, everything falls into place in the most perfect way. Brittany and Will’s wedding wasn’t just about the florals, the weather, or the beautiful venue—it was about two people starting their journey together, surrounded by family and friends who have supported them every step of the way.

May the magnolia that graced their wedding symbolize their marriage. Just as it requires a bit of rain and tender care to flourish, may their love continue to grow and blossom into something even more beautiful with time.
