Hartley Grace
I have known Mary Beth for years so when she asked me to capture these sweet memories with their first child, I was thrilled! Lifestyle sessions are near and dear to my heart. It is so easy to get caught up in the "picture perfect" moments when planning a session but lifestyle sessions really lean into the candid and natural moments that unfold.
Mary Beth really poured so much into curating this nursery. Getting to hear her talk about her dreams of a little girl coming true brought tears to my eyes. She had an entire Pinterest board dedicated to this and I must say, it all paid off because it is PERFECT! The floral accent wall is such a soft and feminine touch to the room.
This session was so laid back. Sweet little Hartley was happy in her swaddle and let us move her around and snuggle her every which way. In the down times when she needed a little comfort, I backed away and let Mary Beth soothe her. This genuine interaction between mama and her baby gave some of the most beautiful and authentic photos.
The most heartfelt gift
As Mary Beth was telling me more about the doll pictured below, my eyes filled with tears. Her mother passed away a few years ago from a heart condition. Her godmother had a doll made for Hartley in her grandmother's honor. The stripes are fabric from some of her pajamas and the left over fabric was made into matching pajamas for Hartley. I can't imagine how special that little doll will be to Hartley as she grows up!
